2019 – In Review

When I think of 2019 my first thought is that I didn’t have any surgeries and how wonderful was that! Woo-Hoo!

My second thought from this past year is of the current White House Administration and how scary and angry that’s been for the past three years. This post is not about politics though, it’s about my 2019 and what helped make it so great.

My third thought is that it was an absolutely fabulous year! It was wonderful for me and my boys.

This year has brought gratitude for you, my boys, my friends, and all the resources listed below.

Ways I made my life better…

I learned as much as I possibly could this year. Wow!

There are years where I just want to cruise along and just “be” in the world and then there are years like 2019 where it feels like I just can’t get enough knowledge into my head and heart.

I did most of my learning through the Libby App. Oh, how I love this app. The Libby App connects through your library card so it’s free and you can listen to books without using data if you’re not connected to the internet. It doesn’t have every book I wanted to read available but there are enough great ones to keep you busy for a long time.

I know I’ve mentioned her before but I really love Leonie Dawson. She creates incredibly easy to access online classes. I dove headfirst into her 40 Days to a Finished Book and Money, Manifesting, and Multiple Streams of Income. I’ll actually go through both of those courses again as soon as I can.

With my learning about money and how to manage it, I started working at a new job!

After taking the Money, Manifesting, and Multiple Streams of Income I started looking for opportunities to make more money. I sold a few things on Facebook, looked for part-time opportunities outside of Target, and I have found the absolutely perfect opportunity for me with a wonderful someone I used to work with.

I love my new job opportunity and you can check out the THINKERS Notebook here, which is the product I’m learning about and helping to promote. 🙂

Books I read (& listened to on the Libby App):

My favorite book of 2019 has been Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I’m on my fourth time listening to it. I can’t really explain why I love it so much, but I do. And I’ll listen to it again soon I’m sure.

I also listened to Yes Please by Amy Poehler, Over the Top by JVN, Freakonomics, You are a Badass at Making Money, We Were Eight Years in Power, Educated, The Moment of Lift, Dare to Lead, The Path Made Clear, Bossypants, The 4-Hour Work Week, The Book of Joy, a few Janet Evanovich books, and many more I can’t remember right now.

Here Are A Few of My Favorite Things from 2019…

Favorite restaurant(s): Super G Mart Honey Bun Cafe and New Zealand Cafe

Favorite food: My new chili recipe that my awesome friend gave me that won a Chili Cookoff!

Favorite drink: My healing chai of course

Favorite thing I made: I made a gorgeous collaged woman’s box. I have no idea what I’ll do with it, but it sits in my library area and brings me joy anytime I look at it.

Best kiss: Sigh – no kissy for Mica this year

Favorite gift received: A plentiful fruit and candy tower

Favorite outfit: I love wearing a long flowy skirt, a black tank top, and silver hoop earrings… preferable no shoes but if I have to very minimal but cute flip-flops

Favorite thing I bought: Oh! My new phone cases… I have a glitter one now AND a fluffy bunny phone case. I love answering my phone when those cases are on it.

The thing I am most proud of in 2019…

I finished all of the illustrations for Love Notes To My Body!

FIREWORKS!

BOOM! CONFETTI!

CARTWHEELS! YIPPEE!

Love Notes to My Body is an absolutely gorgeous (if I do say so myself – hehe) book. It’s a collection of notes to different body parts sending love and acceptance to each and every part.

The way I see it, this book will help us all rework how we love our bodies. Nicole Ayers has created a healing and intentionally loving and accessible collection of books for women to help us remember to love our bodies and to end the criticizing we so often do to ourselves.

It’s such a worthy and important project for now and always and … it’s almost ready to come out in the world for all to hold in their hands. The launch is scheduled for February 21st, 2020 so if you’re seeing this before that and want to come, get in touch with me.

Here are a few images from the book:

And that’s a wrap!

Welcome, 2020, I’m thrilled you’re here.

Love, love, love,

Mica
