The World Celebrates Autism

Autism is a ubiquitous part of my life, and maybe yours as well. If not, your life is still full of cool things that matter and affect you daily.
Also, celebrations and traditions are important.
We’ve gotten away from rituals as a way to stay connected to each other and the planet. At least, that’s what it feels like in my life.
I’m happy to report that I’ve found some ways that people across the globe are celebrating autism this month. You’ll find links to celebrations below, and I’d love to invite you to add any you’d like to share in the comments.
Here in Charlotte, you’ll find AspieCon this Saturday, April 6.
You’ll find some super fun information to celebrate Autism Week in the UK.
If you’re in Cincinnati, you can join together with our community on May 18!
In New York? Check out these exciting events.
You’ll find cool things to do in San Francisco!
Monday night, April 1, 2019, in San Jose, hundreds gathered in honor of autism. “Services for people with autism in Costa Rica remain extremely limited, and families routinely wait years for an official diagnosis.”
All over the world people are celebrating and talking about autism in our communities!

The twelfth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2019. That’s from Autism Speaks. Here
Here’s a poster and some information from for your workplace you can download and print to raise awareness–seems super cool and helpful: Help spread awareness in the workplace this World Autism Awareness Week 1-7 April.
And here’s a cool post with 30 ways to celebrate this month! Wow!
There you go–Celebrations of our autistic community everywhere. Thank goodness too. Remembering the gifts (and challenges) we face daily IS the celebration!
Celebrate and find gratitude in whatever way works for you. It’ll hopefully help you feel happier.
With so much love,
Mica
