POWER Poses for All Autism Families!

Power poses are a thing and if you haven’t seen them yet, you’re in for a real treat!

Standing in this pose works. For real.

I highly recommend doing this with your entire family for two minutes. Set a timer and make “no talking” a firm rule (We are still learning to be quiet for that long, but in time it will be easy. It just takes about a thousand gentle, loving reminders that this is a no-talking time–hopefully kidding, but . . . ).

It might sound crazy, but I swear it’s like magic! This feels like a super important activity and action to take as a family.

It might be easier to pick a time to do it once or twice a week to get started if this type of activity will be new to your family. We have started doing it before judo on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and my kids are already talking about doing their power poses before tests and their upcoming judo competition.

Here’s the video. I highly, HIGHLY recommend watching with your entire family (or cat) and then trying it out!

If you want to dig even deeper, Amy Cuddy, the brilliant lady behind the power poses, has written a book called Prescence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges.

Thanks for being awesome,

Mica

P.S. I’m sending love to all of the amazing human beings who make my family’s life better and don’t even know it. <3

Thank you Amy Cuddy Power mica
