Permission to ask for help: Granted!

Ask for help

As I’ll share time and again, this journey of raising a different brained child with titles, such as Asperger’s Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism, OCD, SID, PDD, etc. can be incredibly isolating, mind-boggling, amazing, terrifying, beautiful, discouraging, exhilarating, and all of the other feelings. It can start out with a lot of “not knowing” how to raise a child who reacts differently to life than we might have expected. Wow.

It is okay to ask for help.

It is okay to say, “I don’t know how to do this.”

It is okay to cry.

It is okay to lose your temper.

It is okay to apologize.

It is okay to love your child more than you’ve ever loved any other human being in the whole entire world.

It’s all okay, and mostly . . .  it’s okay to ask for help. This journey seems to require it, and you have full permission to get the help you need.

Yes. Permission granted!

Love always,

Mica
